To Post 5 Constituents:
Approximately four years ago, the voters of the Cobb County School Post 5 honored me through the election as your School Board representative. During those four years, Post 5 and the entire Cobb County School System has seen not only academic achievement, but many positive accomplishments that have strengthened and enhanced a more secure and conducive learning environment for all our students.
Post 5 has been recently reapportioned and I welcome the new Post 5 voters and look forward to serving you. On May 23rd, I qualified for re-election as your representative on the Cobb County School Board. As your Board member, my main focus has been and will continue to be assuring that the students of Cobb County receive the highest “quality education” available and to exercise prudent fiscal responsibility. This has required close cooperation with parents, teachers, administrators and the citizen organizations, PTSA’s, Booster Clubs and Foundations, that assist our schools in reaching their educational goals.
It is my belief that transparency and openness are crucial to maintaining public trust. Through my newsletter, “David’s Grapevine”, the citizens of Post 5 have received information on upcoming School Board business, actions of the Board, news from Post 5 schools and community information affecting our schools. I will continue to publish “David’s Grapevine” as a useful tool for keeping the community aware of issues and events and as an added resource to communicate to you and from you, on matters of interest.
Although we have accomplished much over the last 4 years there is still much to do. Educating our children is an on-going responsibility and we must not let our schools regress from the high standards we set and the progress we have made. I ask for your support in the upcoming election and together we will continue to build a school system, second to none and in which we can all take extreme pride.
As your Board member, I pledge to continue to represent and govern with the “i care” core values; Integrity, Community, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence.
